Word for 2014: steadfast

My word for twenty fourteen took me all of ten seconds to choose but that is because for the past twenty four hours a theme has been present in my life... to remain steadfast in the LORD!

resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.

Abba has been showing me the importance of remaining steadfast, to rest solely in Him. For everything. You see things are changing all around us and our help will only be from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Not the state. Not the religious leaders of our time. But solely in the Holy One of Israel.

This year's Psalm: is #121, this is our first year to choose a family Psalm, and it was given to my husband yesterday morning... a morning when we needed a strong reminder to remain steadfast.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

This evening, around the dinner table, my husband then suggested that we begin memorizing this passage from Scripture tonight. To be diligent in grafting the Word into our hearts and minds. A perfect companion to steadfast I think.

Do you have a family Psalm, verse or word for this year?  I would love to hear about it.

~ Blessings!
